SENIOR SOFTBALL
The Pecan Plantation Sports and Recreation Department hosts the Senior Softball League. Senior Softball rules modify ASA rules to
minimize injuries and still provide challenging play. To promote the sport of softball for all ages, the PPOA Sports and Recreation Department is initially organizing a Senior League. Although the Senior League will be the first league in operation, many other leagues, (Youth, Women, Coed, and Young Adult) are expected in the future under the PPOA Sports and Recreation Committee Leadership.
Team vacancies not filled by PPOA members will be open to guests. Games will be played on Saturday mornings and will be officiated by League certified umpires. The League membership fee will be $5 per season for PPOA members and $10 for guests. Fees will be used to defray the cost of umpires.
All interested players are invited to contact the Pecan Activity Center, join the League, and play in the spring season.
Baseball/Softball Field Improvements
Mike Underwood, PPOA Grounds Superintendent, is planning many improvements to the field that will benefit baseball/softball enthusiasts of all ages. These improvements include the irrigation and leveling of the outfield and the smoothing of the infield with clay. With these improvements, the Pecan Field will become a premier amenity for all residents to use. Remember to recycle your papers at the PAC. Funds generated by this activity are returned to the PAC for all types of activities.
